Muzzameel is Living a Healthy Life After Defeating a Fatal Liver Disease. - INDIASTAN

Muzzameel is Living a Healthy Life After Defeating a Fatal Liver Disease.

This is the story of a lovely family consisting of Muzzameel, his father, his mother, and his two younger brothers. His mother, Samina Begum, recalls that when Muzzameel was placed in her arms for the first time after his birth, his mischievousness-filled eyes brought a smile to her face. Over the years, he has become so responsible that he takes good care of his younger brothers; after all, he is the eldest son of the house. Along with his studies, he excelled in sports. Everything was perfect, a happy family where only joy prevailed.

But this happiness didn’t last for long.

One day, Muzzameel noticed blood in his stool. When he told his parents about it, his mother became so frightened that a sense of unease settled in her mind. This was not a simple symptom of illness; his mother knew it. Without any delay, he was taken to the hospital, where the doctor’s words felt like the ground had slipped from beneath his parents’ feet. Muzzameel was diagnosed with Non-Cirrhotic Portal Hypertension. This rare condition affects the blood vessels in the liver, causing blockages and leading to increased blood pressure in his veins. Consequently, he experienced symptoms such as abdominal swelling, bleeding in stools, and fatigue. He was admitted to the hospital and doctors told that it was going to take a considerable amount of time for him to recover.

“Abbu, when can I go back to school and play again?”

When Muzzameel asked his father this question, neither he nor his mother could respond. Their prince was fighting a battle for his life. Due to the repeated presence of blood in his stool, he had to rely on ventilator support. A once playful child was now bedridden and unable to help himself. Over time, his abdomen got swollen and filled with water, also his eyes had turned yellow. Not only that, but he couldn’t even eat properly. For parents to witness such a condition of their child is the greatest sorrow imaginable.

The doctors recommended a surgical procedure called a Hepaticojejunostomy with a splenorenal shunt for Muzzameel. This procedure aims to treat portal hypertension, caused by blockages in the blood vessels connecting the liver and spleen. The treatment was so costly that their entire savings were depleted, and the money borrowed from relatives was not enough to cover the expenses. Now the concern was how the treatment would be possible. From where would they arrange the funds? Would Muzzameel recover? What should they do now?

A Ray Of Hope – ImpactGuru

But it is said that where there is hope, there is a way. When all paths seemed closed, ImpactGuru and its donors stepped forward to help. With crowdfunding, several donors helped raise funds for Muzzameel’s treatment in no time.

With this help, Muzzameel’s treatment was successful. Seeing their son’s health improve, his parents were filled with joy and gratitude. Today, Muzzameel is living a joyful and healthy life with his family. His childhood is once again filled with mischief, and he is focusing on his studies while having fun with his brothers again.

“By the grace of god, I feel happy seeing him better. He asks me to make his favourite dishes like chicken salan, Biryani, tahri.” – Muzzameel’s Mother
