Our hearts were overjoyed when we found out we would be parents to a child soon. We were excited to hear the giggles and cries of a newborn in our quiet house.”, said Pranaya’s mother.
Pranaya’s parents were in love with him from the moment he was born. The first few months they spent with him were filled with pure joy. Little did they know that their joy would be short lived, and that their lives were about to be turned upside-down.
When Pranaya turned 2, his belly became abnormally large, and he would constantly have high fever. After spending hours and hours in doctors’ clinics and test laboratories, the parents received the heart-breaking news.
“Our little angel was diagnosed with bone cancer. It broke our heart to even imagine the pain he must be going through.” expressed Ghan Raj Ojha, Pranaya’s father.
Cancer is known to break the strongest of adults. To watch their little-one go through that suffering at such a tender age was nothing short of torture. Even after completing his chemotherapy, the baby underwent a surgery to stop the cancer from spreading. But cancer refused to leave the little baby alone.
His father was a humble chef at a restaurant in Nepal. The parents had exhausted all their savings on Pranaya’s treatment so far. People in their circle told them to let go, and to have another child. But they did not want to give up on saving their baby.

“When everyone had given up on us, ImpactGuru held our hand. They have been nothing short of a blessing for giving our little baby another chance to live.” said Pranaya’s mother.
Almost on the verge of losing hope, Pranaya’s family reached out to ImpactGuru – a crowdfunding platform in India, that they had heard had helped patients raise funds in crores for treatment. They started a fundraiser immediately. With the help of several kind donors who were as dedicated to save little Pranaya as their own parents, the family could finally get their child out of cancer’s grip.

“His treatment is going very well. We can finally watch our baby live a joyful, pain-free childhood.”, said his father.
Pranaya is on his way to recovery. He is getting the treatment he needs, and his life is no longer in danger. His parents are overjoyed to watch him be his naughty, bubbly self. The little one is healthy, and is all set to achieve great things in life!
