“I have always felt that my daughter Maisha will become a great athlete who will achieve every milestone in life because of her passion. But an unfortunate incident changed our lives…One day, Maisha left for school on her bicycle, and I got busy with my work. After a while, I received a call, and the person on the other end told me that Maisha was met with an accident. I thought it was a prank call, but when I heard my daughter crying loudly in the background, my heart seemed to stop. I was so panicked that I couldn’t think for a moment. Then the person asked me to come to the accident site immediately. I rushed there and what I saw was horrifying. I saw that Maisha got injured and was lying on the road. I was very anxious, and I could hear my heartbeat clearly. Only Maisha’s face appeared before my eyes. I quickly tried to get her to the hospital, and the people there helped me. The doctors cleaned her wound at the hospital and tried to fix her leg with rods, but the damage was extensive. They recommended treatment with multiple surgical procedures, hospitalization, and medication.

Maisha’s treatment was crucial, and the doctors estimated the cost of surgical treatment to be around ₹11 lakhs. My husband and I were daily wage workers, so arranging this amount was a huge challenge for us. Our daughter, who was once the fastest runner, couldn’t even walk now.
